Correctional Officer
The Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections (DOC) is committed to protecting the public while creating opportunities for positive change. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety, order, and accountability within our facilities while supporting the rehabilitation and successful reentry of those in our care.
We’re looking for individuals with integrity, strong communication skills, and a dedication to service.
Pay and BenefitsOur Correctional Officers earn up to $53,000 per year and have the opportunity to advance to Master Sergeant in one year.
Responsibilites- Maintain safety, order, and accountability within the facilities.
- Support the rehabilitation and successful reentry of individuals in state custody.
- Enforce rules and regulations throughout the facility.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Have no felony convictions after the age of 18.
- Successfully pass a background investigation.
- Successfully complete a physical assessment.
- Must possess a current and valid driver's license.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
