About the role

Job Summary

The Jr. Machinery Mechanic is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery under close supervision. This entry-level role supports senior mechanics in diagnosing issues, performing basic repairs, and ensuring equipment is safe and operational.

This job profile is intended for entry-level support staff who follow specific instructions and procedures, with supervision provided for non-routine situations. Tasks can be carried out after basic training or demonstration.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in inspecting and maintaining machinery and mechanical systems.

* Perform basic repairs and part replacements.

* Support preventive maintenance routines.

* Clean and organize tools and work areas.

* Follow safety procedures and report hazards.

* Document maintenance activities.

* Learn and apply mechanical troubleshooting techniques.

* Skills & Qualifications

* May require basic vocational training (or equivalent work experience) and the ability to carry out assigned tasks after initial instruction or demonstration.

Qualifications:

* Basic mechanical aptitude.

* Willingness to learn and follow instructions.

* Good teamwork and communication skills.

* Attention to detail and safety awareness.

* Ability to use basic hand tools.
