Jacobs is looking for a Technician in Training to join our team in Baton Rouge LA. In this role you will Install, operate, locate, maintain, and repair water distribution infrastructure including water mains, service lines, hydrants , valves , PRVs and meters ; establishes and maintains effective sample procedures for water lines ;
Diagnose system operating problems , Performs necessary corrective and remedial activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Performs routine servicing and corrective maintenance of water and wastewater systems.

* Cleans vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, tools and other stationery and potable equipment.

* Performs routine inspection of vehicles and equipment.

* Operates and maintains vehicles, equipment and tools required to load, unload, haul, and spread sand, gravel, dirt and/or waste products, digs, refills ditches and trenches.

* Maintains grounds and buildings; cuts grass, weeds and brush; trims trees and bushes; rakes grass; leaves and trash, seeds and cares for lawn and ornamental plantings.

* Understands and carries out oral and written directions.

* Works safely and adheres to establish safety procedures

* Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work.

* Ability to carry and respond to pages as requested by management.

* Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner.

* Preforms other duties as assigned.

Here's what you'll need

* Possess a valid Driver's license - with no major infractions

* High School Diploma or General Education degree (GED).

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

* Basic Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, farm machinery, pumps and equipment used in and around water and wastewater systems.

* Familiarity with hand and power tools and equipment commonly used in the maintenance of vehicles, equipment, structure and buildings.

* Basic Knowledge in Operations and Maintenance of Water Systems.

The base salary range for this position is $45,760.00 to $54,080.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
