Qualificationsand Detail about the Position Broad Function
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and related equipment to move, locate, load, and unload scaffolding materials and related equipment within a yard or jobsite. This position supports daily operations by ensuring accurate material handling, inventory control, and adherence to safety standards.
Essential Functions- Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock’s Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business
- Safely operate forklifts and material‑handling equipment to load, unload, move, and stage scaffolding materials, components, and accessories
- Load, unload, move, stack, and store materials in designated areas
- Handle oversized, heavy, and irregular loads including frames, planks, systems scaffolding, shoring, and access equipment safely and according to operational procedures
- Verify product quantities, inspect materials for damage, and report discrepancies
- Maintain accurate inventory records, and follow proper documentation procedures
- Perform routine forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and site‑specific requirements
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
- Communicate effectively with yard supervisors, drivers, and field crews to support daily operations
- Assist with other site tasks as needed
- Ability to meet and maintain customer requirements for site access
- Work in an indoor and outdoor environment including field, yard, shop locations, and office
- Necessary Personal Protective Equipment is required.

- Must have transportation to and from the work location
- Able to effectively communicate with other employees and supervision
- Meet customer language comprehension requirements for site safety standards
- Ability to read and understand specifications, such as blueprints, to determine requirements
- Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience operating forklifts in a construction, scaffolding, yard, or industrial environment preferred
- Familiarity with handling long, heavy, or unstable loads
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
