Job Type: Full-Time
Work Environment: Industrial HVAC Manufacturing

About the Role

Safe Air Technology is seeking an HVAC Copper Tacker / Brazing Technician to join our HVAC manufacturing team.

This is a hands‑on production position focused on the fit‑up, preparation, tacking, soldering, and brazing of copper piping and tubing used in our industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems. This individual will work with copper lines connecting coils and other HVAC components within our custom‑built industrial HVAC units.

We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with copper tubing and hand tools, and able to produce clean, accurate work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Previous HVAC, refrigeration, copper piping, brazing, or soldering experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, cut, fit, and prepare copper tubing and piping for HVAC assemblies.
  • Position and fit copper lines going to coils and other HVAC/refrigeration components.
  • Perform soldering and brazing of copper tubing and fittings.
  • Tack and secure piping assemblies in the proper position prior to final completion.
  • Follow drawings, layouts, measurements, and work instructions to properly route copper piping.
  • Prepare copper joints by cleaning, fitting, and assembling tubing and fittings.
  • Use torches and appropriate brazing and soldering equipment safely.
  • Inspect completed joints and assemblies for proper fit, workmanship, and quality.
  • Assist HVAC/Refrigeration Technicians with piping and unit assembly as needed.
  • Identify improper fit‑up, damaged material, or workmanship concerns before the unit moves to the next stage of production.
  • Maintain an organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Work with the HVAC production team to meet daily production goals and schedules.
  • Perform other HVAC assembly duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience with copper tubing, soldering, brazing, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, or pipe fitting preferred.
  • Experience brazing copper refrigerant lines is a strong plus.
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure and basic measuring tools.
  • Ability to cut, clean, fit, and prepare copper tubing.
  • Comfortable working with torches, tubing cutters, deburring tools, and common hand and power tools.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC or refrigeration piping is preferred.
  • Ability to follow drawings, measurements, and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
  • Dependable attendance and willingness to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and work in various positions while assembling HVAC units.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials, tools, and components as required.
  • Comfortable working around industrial equipment and active manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to safely wear required PPE and work with brazing and soldering equipment.
What We're Looking For

You do not need to be a fully trained HVAC technician for this position. We are looking for someone who is good with their hands, understands basic measurements, takes pride in clean workmanship, and can learn our processes.

Candidates with experience in HVAC installation, refrigeration, plumbing, copper pipe fitting, brazing, soldering, tacking, or mechanical assembly are encouraged to apply.

If you enjoy hands‑on work and want to develop your skills in industrial HVAC manufacturing, we'd like to hear from you.
