Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance of the buildings and equipment that is conducive to safe and efficient manufacturing. May be used in general utility capacity as needed. Maintain clean, safe work environment. Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Follow all standard operating procedures regarding equipment and manufacturing of products, maintain and complete all paperwork, maintain area housekeeping and safety.
Perform preventative maintenance, metal fabricating, welding, plasma cutter and cutting torch. Perform general mechanical repairs, plumbing and basic electrical maintenance and repairs. Maintain spare parts and maintenance supply inventories.
Develop understanding of all mechanical equipment and the required preventive maintenance needed to maintain the equipment in good operating condition to allow for production to meet customer needs.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Basic mechanical aptitude, basic electrical knowledge, blueprint reading, welding, and cutting skills. Previous manufacturing, forklift or other related experience. Communication, interpersonal, adaptability, ability to learn quickly, initiative, integrity, customer and quality focus, judgment/problem-solving, safety awareness.
Education:
High School diploma required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to withstand the physical pressures of constant standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, sitting, extremes of hot and cold, as well as carrying, lifting, pushing and pulling heavy objects, work in environment of airborne dust particles, vibrations, and moving mechanical parts. Will work overtime as needed.
Safety Equipment:
Standard PPE will be required including but not limited to safety glasses, hard hat, cut resistant gloves, high visibility clothing and safety shoes. In addition, flame retardant clothing will be required for welding and torching.
Safety Training:
Training will be required for all aspects of the job.
