Overview
The Web Developer will design, code, and maintain websites and web applications for Louisiana Economic Development and its sub-brands, ensuring they meet client specification and functionality requirements. They will also work closely with team members and clients to ensure preferences and requirements are achieved.
Responsibilities- Meet with internal and external clients to understand their needs, design preferences, and functionality requirements
- Design user interfaces, navigation menus, and wireframes to enhance user experience
- Integrate media, including graphics, audio, and video, into websites
- Test websites to ensure code accuracy and functionality
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to website performance and user experience
- Maintain websites by updating content and making edits as requested
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of web development principles
- Proficiency in programming languages such as HTML5, CSS, and Java Script
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) like Word Press, Joomla, and Drupal
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with clients and team members
- Familiarity with Frontend Frameworks
- Basic Backend Knowledge – Understanding how websites handle data using Node.js, Python, PHP, or Ruby on Rails is helpful.
Experience with databases like MySQL or Mongo
DB is a bonus. - Experience with Version Control – Knowing how to use Git and Git Hub to track changes
- Understanding of UI/UX Best Practices – A good sense of design, accessibility, and responsive layout
- Exposure to Cloud & Deployment Tools – Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, or basic deployment to...
- Ability to multi-task and coordinate activities to ensure timely delivery of work
- Ability to travel and drive own or other vehicle to various locations as needed
- Ability to carry up to 20 pounds on an as needed basis
