We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations and serve as a key strategic partner to our Chief Financial Officer. What You'll Do

As our Financial Controller, you will:

* Lead and develop the Accounting Department

* Oversee all accounting operations, including:

* General Ledger

* Accounts Payable

* Accounts Receivable

* Payroll

* Cash Management

* Bank Reconciliations

* Month-end and year-end close

* Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports

* Partner with department leaders to monitor budgets and recommend cost-control strategies

* Manage the organization's annual audit process

* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements

* Maintain strong internal controls and sound accounting practices

* Oversee the organization's ERP system and accounting processes

* Review insurance coverage and help mitigate organizational risk

* Support financial oversight of federal contracts and grants

* Perform and oversee 401(k) audit activities and Form 5500 filing

* Identify financial trends and provide recommendations to the CFO

* Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

* Current CPA license (Required)

* 10+ years of progressive accounting experience

* 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience

* Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, auditing, and internal controls

* Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

* Exceptional attention to detail

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

* Strong communication and leadership skills

* Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Preferred Experience

* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar ERP systems

* Experience in nonprofit accounting, government contracts, grants, or multi-location organizations

* Experience leading process improvement and system implementations
