Battle Creek Public Schools (BCPS) located in Calhoun County, Michigan, serves the City of Battle Creek and surrounding townships.

• Tutoring or assisting individual students
• Teaching small group lessons
• Providing additional instruction in reading and math skills
• Collaborating and supporting teachers’ programming goals and teaching strategies while reinforcing students’ learning strategies in the classroom
• Assisting classroom teachers in documenting assessment data that results in fair, though not equal, assessment
• Ensuring that data collection is accurate and timely
• Engaging in professional development on a continual basis
• Maintaining confidentiality
• Promoting and advocating for the school and district mission and vision statements
• Supporting academic and behavior goals set for students
• Communicating proactively and professionally with students and teaching staff
• Conducting all work activities in a professional manner
• Demonstrating commitment to working in a diverse school community
• Reinforcing student success following highly structured protocols and data documentation methods
• Understanding and participating in the implementation of Positive Behavior Support initiatives in the building
• Performing other duties as assigned

• Must have 60 college credits or an Associate’s Degree or higher or a passing score of 460 or higher on the ETS Paraprofessional Assessment
• Must be flexible, organized, and willing to work as a team with other staff members
• Must have prior experience in an elementary classroom setting
• Experience working with students in Reading and Writing (balanced literacy)
• Experience developing lesson plans in all subject areas
• Experience collaborating with colleagues

$20.00 per hour

$30.00 per hour (Certified Teacher)
