A Bearcats Beyond The Bell Youth Development Worker (YDW) is an educator that provides fun, positive and enriching after school experiences for students during the BCPS Bearcats Beyond the Bell Community Learning Centers Program. A YDW creates and facilitates programming for students at elementary and secondary school sites. A YDW collaborates with other YDWs and the Extended Learning Coordinator of their site to deliver engaging, hands‑on activities that enhance a child's reading, writing, math, science and social‑emotional learning skills.

• Serve as a positive role model
• Support students SEL skills during summer
• Facilitate engaging programming activities

• High School Diploma required. Post high school education preferred.
• Educational background in math, STEM, arts, literacy backgrounds preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with youth development program(s)

• Ability to pay close attention to and manage details while maintaining focus on the big picture
• Ability to organize and prioritize
• Understand and embrace diversity and inclusion

$17.00 per hour

37 weeks, 16-21 hours a week: 1 hour for morning program (optional), 4 hours a day for after school, start and end time vary by site, 4 days a week.

The successful candidate will be subject to a fingerprint and background check as a condition of employment. All fees required for this check (estimated $73.00) are the responsibility of the successful applicant.
