Career Technical Education - Instructional Support
- Medium/Heavy Truck & Diesel Technology (187 days)

Assist the CTE Instructor with the day-to-day operations of CTE programs at the Calhoun Area Career Center. CTE Instructional Support Staff are under the direction and supervision of CTE Instructors at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supplement instruction by assisting the CTE Instructor during lessons by helping students who may need additional support with instruction.
  • Assist in the development of instructional and related materials, clerical tasks, correction of papers, etc.
  • Reinforce instruction by assisting the CTE Instructor in administering drill activities for individuals or small groups.
  • Attend staff and team meetings and other meetings as appropriate and requested.
  • Under the direction of the CTE Instructor, carry out instructional support and training activities with students in school setting and on Work Placements as requested.
  • Assist the CTE Instructor in planning and implementation of educational activities.
  • Under the direction of the CTE Instructor, will be responsible for the supervision of the student(s) and will direct, assist, and instruct the student as appropriate.
  • Maintain student behavior through appropriate and approved behavioral interventions and approved techniques.
  • Assist in the preparation of instructional materials for teaching and for display in the classroom.
  • Under the direction and supervision of the CTE Instructor may independently lead small group activities.
  • Maintain instructional/classroom records as requested/required.
  • Maintain regular consistent attendance, and punctuality.
  • Maintain a professional personal appearance.
  • Adhere to district health and safety procedures.
  • Adhere to Board Policies.
  • Maintain Confidentiality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma and a minimum of two years (minimum of 2,000 hours) of work experience in the previous six years in the relevant and appropriate CTE program assignment.

PERSONAL

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must possess a positive attitude toward high school students; demonstrate initiative; ability to communicate effectively with others and work as a team; basic computer skills.

B. Complaint/Grievance Procedure Notice

II. The person who believes s/he has a valid basis for grievance shall discuss the grievance informally and on a verbal basis with the District’s Civil Rights Coordinator, who shall in turn investigate the complaint and reply with verbal answer to the complainant. S/He may initiate formal procedures according to the following steps:
