An international automotive parts manufacturing company is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their facility to the south of the Battle Creek, MI area (Coldwater). This role will be responsible for planning and overseeing CNC machining operations and process improvement initiatives. This is a full-time, direct hire position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Senior Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Lead and manage functions related to the investigation, development, and implementation of new machining processes
• Oversee the installation, start-up, and programming of newly implemented machinery and systems, ensuring they meet operational standards and performance requirements
• Read and interpret technical documentation such as blueprints and schematics
• Design, test, and evaluate mechanical products and systems to ensure they align with engineering principles and other requirements
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, diagnose issues, and provide recommendations to the maintenance team for effective repairs and improvements
• Assist with the development of structural designs using CAD software and drafting tools, ensuring designs meet customer needs
• Participate in hiring, and provide training, mentorship, and performance reviews to engineering associates
• Other duties as assigned

Senior Mechanical Engineer Qualifications Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field preferred, OR Associate’s degree with equivalent training and work experience
• At least 3-5 years' experience (including internships, co-ops, etc.) in production engineering and CNC machining is required
• Experience with CAD design using CATIA and / or Solidworks programs
• Ability to read, interpret, and improve engineering drawings and schematics
• Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
• Good problem-solving, time management, and multitasking skills
• This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, lift in excess of 50 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear.
  
  You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
