Position: Engineer I - Quality

Founded on the principles of respect, trust, and value, we serve a wide range of customers – domestic and foreign – by supplying them with high‑quality automotive headlamps, tail lamps, fog lamps.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for investigating customer complaints regarding product quality and defects
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for countermeasures to eliminate future occurrences
  • Implement countermeasures including changing documentation and standardized work instructions
  • Participating on cross‑functional teams to implement approved countermeasures
  • Works with manufacturing, engineering, and associates to ensure compliance with approved countermeasures
  • Attend New Product Development (NPD) meetings as it relates to QC mass production functions
  • Responsible for representing the company and negotiating quality standards with suppliers
  • Implements improvement activities and provides monthly reports on supplier quality performance
  • Responsible for working with manufacturing and other engineering functions to identify and solve issues affecting product quality
  • Champion the product quality for assigned customer as directed
  • Supports Production Engineer to establish standard documentation, process diagrams, FMEA, process flow charts, trial reports, and other documentation as needed to maintain compliance with quality management systems and customer requirements
  • Responsible for analyzing returned parts by a variety of tests to determine root cause of defect and reporting on failure analysis
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for counter measures to eliminate further occurrences
  • Responsible for hosting customers for all on‑site visits and travelling to customer locations to fulfil the specific functions of this position
  • Generate and control project schedules, monitors project budget and reports complete project status
  • Directs all phases with minimal supervision of project management
  • Develops, trains, and works with lower‑level engineers to advance the skill level of the department
  • Performs other duties, tasks, or projects at the direction of immediate supervisor
  • Potential travel up to 50%
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to solve problems independently
  • Knowledge of quality standards
  • Minimum 2 years of Tier I or Tier II Automotive Supplier experience
  • Deep understanding of IATF 1649 and ISO 9001 standards
OPTIONAL/PREFERRED

SKILLS:
  • 3 + years in an automotive quality position
  • Experience working with Ford
EDUCATION REQUIRED:

B.S. degree in engineering technology or equivalent related experience preferred.

While performing the job the position is highly exposed to moving vehicles/machinery and factory equipment. The position may be required to work overtime to meet deadlines and requirements.
