As an Associate Packaging Engineer you will have ownership of small to medium size projects and/or programs to scale-up and introduce new packaging, improve quality, margins, productivity, and capacity in Operations. Your technical expertise will help you to provide direction within the department and globally. And you will help spearhead innovation in discovery, advancement, and evaluation of new technologies in the area of packaging/material research and development.
Here Is What You Will Be Doing
- Provide support on technical analysis, evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of packaging materials design and configurations.
- Partner with the Insights Team to develop consumer-based package design research plan and timelines and develop prototypes for testing that meet the package and financial objectives
- Partner with Procurement to determine package availability/cost information.
- Understand and define process needs and capabilities as they relate to the targeted production line. Work with appropriate resources to schedule plant/equipment testing and provides test plan. Ensures adequate materials, resources, and timing for plant testing.
- Assist with plant testing and startup preparation. Provides input for both the plant test plans and production start-up.
- Assist Quality and Operations in establishing the "Image and Defect" Quality Manual, supporting documentation, and training for package image and defects.
- Partners with appropriate resources to refine/optimize the process, reduce Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and resolve quality issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Packaging, Chemical or Industrial Engineering and/or related technical field
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Skilled in project management, effectively manage and prioritize multiple initiatives
- Travel up to 50%
Salary Range: $86,240 - $107,800
Salary pay ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and local market conditions.
