Are you passionate about food innovation, product development, and bringing new ideas to life? Join WK Kellogg's Cereal Research & Development team as a Food Developer or Food Technologist and help shape the future of some of the most iconic brands in breakfast.
We're hiring multiple Food Developers and Food Technologists across several experience levels to support innovation, product renovation, commercialization, and process improvement initiatives. In these roles, you'll partner with cross-functional teams across North America to develop new products, improve existing products, and apply food science, engineering, and technical expertise to solve complex challenges. From concept through commercialization, you'll play an important role in delivering products that consumers know and love.
Here'sWhat You Will Be Doing
- Support the development and commercialization of new products, product renovations, ingredient qualifications, flavor extensions, and process improvements.
- Design and execute bench-scale experiments, prototype development, technical evaluations, and product testing activities.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Consumer Insights, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to identify and advance business opportunities.
- Evaluate emerging ingredients, technologies, processing methods, and industry trends to support innovation and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities and external production partners to improve product quality, operational performance, and process efficiency.
- Lead or support product startups, commercialization activities, and manufacturing trials.
- Manage project timelines, risks, documentation, and communications to ensure successful execution of development initiatives.
- Apply food science, engineering, and technical expertise to troubleshoot challenges and identify practical solutions.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation while ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, labeling, nutritional, and food safety requirements.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning across the R&D organization.
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Strong technical foundation in food product development, process development, engineering, or related research and development functions.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter with an ownership mindset and a passion for innovation.
- Ability to travel up to 50% as needed to support manufacturing sites, suppliers, and external partners.
Preferred:
- Experience with food manufacturing, commercialization, or product development within the food industry.
- Experience with processing equipment, ingredients, flavors, emerging technologies, or commercial scale-up activities.
- Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related technical background with applicable industry experience.
- Experience leading complex projects from concept through commercialization.
- Experience providing technical expertise and support across multiple product categories, technologies, or manufacturing environments.
