Major Duties- Serves as a technical expert in support of Equipment Control System, conducts studies, gathers metrics and coordinates projects in support of the functional.
- Serves as a technical expert in support of economic and technical analysis of alternative solutions regarding the integration of ECS into automated information/data systems.
- Makes recommendations that contribute to the development of emerging technologies and solutions that enhance the use of Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ECS functionality in support of DLA Distribution business processes.
- Gathers, consolidates and refines business requirements as part of ECS design process, and makes modernization recommendations based on emerging technologies and DLA business process improvements.
- Provides input to ECS standards and DLA policy/guidance relating to AIT strategies.
- Advises Director, DLA Enterprise IT Architecture, Distribution leadership and operations staff, and management officials on new developments and advanced techniques to enhance productivity and business operations.

A. Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Plans or conducts studies of a long-range nature dealing with broad areas of future operations, technological developments and required interfaces, and recommends revisions to operational architectures. Evaluates commercial equipment automation and emerging technologies associated with Automated Identification Technology. Coordinates work with associates based on priorities, consideration of the difficulty and requirements and availability of resources. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
