Job SummaryAs a Facilities Maintenance Technician you will be responsible promptly and safely performing repairs and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of building and facility equipment, fixtures and systems. Must be able to take and pass a mechanical aptitude test.
Pay rate based on passed test score.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Performs minor maintenance repair work in one or more of the following areas: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, office remodeling and or/paint
- Execute building maintenance including but not limited to replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles and door knobs
- Repair locking systems on doors, files, cabinets and lockers
- Travel from the plant to the UHT Distribution Center to inspect facilities, buildings and grounds for routine maintenance; prioritize repairs and renovations as assigned
- Resolve all assigned work orders at each facility
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices
- Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc
- Communicates effectively with maintenance supervisor
- Demonstrates problem solving and decision making ability, as needed
- Other duties as assigned or required
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be frequently exposed moving mechanical parts and forklifts.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet / humid / cold conditions (non-weather).
- The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and sit.
- The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
