Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Michigan, requiring a minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience and availability for every other weekend shifts.

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit
• Patient population includes a mix of medical patients across specialties such as ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, and surgical cases including GI, urology, hysterectomies, and mastectomies
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• 36 or 48-hour work weeks available
• Staffing ratio of 1:5–6 patients on nights, with flexibility up to 1:7–8 when paired with an LPN for support
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other Med/Surg units required, typically approximately once per week based on unit need
• Must be available for the first 2 weeks of the assignment for orientation
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated at this time
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
• 13-week contract

• Active Michigan RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required; pending BLS will be considered if candidate confirms willingness to obtain prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required; 2 years preferred
• Must be comfortable working alongside a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and techs
