Registered Nurse (PRN) - Bronson Infusion Center | Battle Creek

• Manage patient care delivery throughout the length of stay, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, diagnosing, implementation, and evaluation.
• Coordinate care provided by other professionals and delegate tasks within scope of practice.
• Provide aspects of physical care appropriate to patient acuity and complexity.
• Document and communicate patient responses, resource consumption, and anticipated needs during each tour of duty.
• Maintain competencies specific to the population served.
• Interpret procedure card and assess case cart for supplies before scheduled procedures; identify missing equipment and acquire necessary supplies.
• Apply knowledge of operative procedures, anticipate physician needs, and ensure proper use of equipment and instruments.
• Observe changes in patient condition and update case information accordingly.
• Act as resource for circulators regarding positioning devices and specialty equipment.
• Participate in on-call duties on a rotational basis.

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred; must be obtained within 8 years of hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing, State of Michigan.
• BLS certification required by completion of core orientation.
• Critical Care or ALS certification and other unit-specific certifications may be required.
• Current driver’s license and proof of insurance required for BAH.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from computer systems and equipment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and operate a computer 40-70% of the time.
• Additional certifications: SALT triage, ESI Triage, NIH Stroke Scale, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Trauma Nursing Core Course (as applicable).
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification for Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby units.

5102 Infusion Center (BBC)

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to patient health or situation.
• Assess physical and developmental needs.
• Analyze assessment data to identify patient problems.
• Document patient history and age-appropriate physical/emotional needs.
• Review vital signs for deviations from normal.
• Establish expected outcomes and develop individualized plans.
• Implement evidence-based interventions and administer medications per protocols.
• Coordinate education plans and delegate patient care interventions.
• Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and document patient response.

• Participate in quality improvement activities and initiate changes based on results.
• Maintain ongoing educational activities and professional records.
• Create a supportive and healthy work environment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes.
• Integrate ethical provisions and serve as a patient advocate.
• Apply research findings to improve practice and contribute to nursing councils and committees.

• Emergency Department: SALT triage, ESI triage, NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days of hire;
  Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC for FT & part-time) within 6 months of hire.
• Special Care Unit:
  Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• Labor & Delivery / Mother/Baby:
  Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification within 6 months of completing intermediate fetal monitoring.
• Bronson Lakeview and South Haven:
  Complete Workday CBL "Swing beds" annually with documentation of care differences.
