Position Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) – Bronson Battle Creek (BBC). Full‑time. Up to $20,000 Sign on Bonus
. The RN will manage patient care throughout the length of stay, ensuring quality outcomes and timely discharge. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, coordination with interdisciplinary teams, delegation, physical care within scope, and thorough documentation and communication during each shift.
- Associate’s degree in Nursing (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred; must be obtained within 8 years of hire.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing, State of Michigan.
- BLS certification required upon completion of core orientation.
- Additional critical‑care or ALS certifications may be required for some units.
- Valid driver’s license for Michigan (required for BAH).
- SALT triage, ESI triage, and NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC, if applicable) within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Special Care Unit nurses within 6 months.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (PQF or NCC) for Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby/Antepartum nurses within 6 months of completing intermediate fetal monitoring.
The role involves high mental and visual fatigue due to repetitive and detail‑oriented tasks, hands‑on patient care, and computer usage for 40–70% of the shift. Lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as occasional heavier tasks, is required. The RN must maintain alertness and concentration for sustained periods.
Key Responsibilities- Collect comprehensive patient data and analyze to identify needs.
- Assess physical and developmental needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Coordinate discharge planning and communication with interdisciplinary teams.
- Implement and evaluate care interventions, including medication administration as per approved protocols.
- Document patient responses, outcomes, and plan adjustments.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing professional development.
- Cultivate compassionate, patient‑centered relationships with families and peers.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication.
- Proficiency in interpreting and utilizing data from computer systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems and equipment.
- Adaptability to evolving patient needs and clinical priorities.
