Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic

Overview

Centennial Aircraft Services is a FAA Part-145 Repair Station located in Battle Creek Executive Airport (KBTL). We specialize in general aviation and vintage aircraft avionics, maintenance, repair and restoration. The dedicated and organized team of FAA Certified A&P Mechanics are trained to inspect, maintain, modify, overhaul and repair single, twin and experimental piston aircraft.

• Work with limited supervision; assist with testing, adjusting and repairing, and other general tasks related to maintenance and repair of airframe systems and components on a variety of airframes in a safe and clean environment according to manufacturer specifications and regulations.
• Prepare and complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
• Troubleshoot and perform inspections, servicing and repairs of aircraft systems and components, ensuring high quality, crafts manlike workmanship and efficiency with minimal rework.
• Prepare and complete maintenance / modification recordkeeping documentation as required by FAA Airworthiness Regulations, company policies and processes, FAA Approved Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, including project turnovers and training logs (OJT).
• Make sound technical decisions as a technician and/or as a Production Inspector; troubleshoot and function test referencing manufacturer technical documents across airframe, engine and component systems.
• Demonstrate proficient use of the Work Order system by listing discrepancies and completing corrective action statements, including Service Bulletin and Airworthiness Directives (AD) compliance statements.
• Share knowledge with less-experienced technicians through the OJT program to foster development and support department goals.
• Perform preventative maintenance, line maintenance, scheduled inspections and related maintenance up to and including ‘A-Checks’ and large component replacements following Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies.
• Install, inspect, test, replace, dismantle, alter, fabricate, repair and reassemble aircraft components and engines using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Follow aircraft maintenance instructions and perform all needed service to requirements.
• Perform maintenance on multiple types of certificated aircraft in accordance with company policy, manufacturer manuals and Federal Aviation Regulations.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair airframe and power plant components and systems; document work completed per company procedures and FARs.
• Perform minor maintenance on ground support equipment as needed; maintain high standards of quality and integrity.

• Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A and P) Mechanic Certificate.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an A and P Mechanic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English.

• Experience working with general aviation aircraft.
• Familiarity with Textron, Cirrus, and other similar aircraft models.
