- Hourly Pay: $33.50 per hour
- Sign On Bonus:
Ryder pays you $2000 at 30 days and $2000 at 90 days - CDL A Required
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 per quarter – four times per year
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, weekends off - Hours:
Second Shift 9:30 am – 6:00 pm

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)
- Basic tools, required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) and basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical systems)
- Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- All other certifications required by location (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment (additional requirement)
- Knowledge of and ability to apply computer skills (PC, Windows, mouse, etc.)
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Must pass a Ryder drug test
- Must pass a DOT physical
- Must pass a Ryder road test
- Must pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer systems when applicable
- Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work unsupervised on most tasks and perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of the shop management system and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Provide other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support
- Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
220) - Complete two of the OEM on‑line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location (predominant OEM of fleet mix completed within 365 days)
