Position Summary

Food Tech

As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician at your local Walmart retail store, you will execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart Stores, equipment, or fixtures. Operating under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, you'll adhere to established maintenance schedules, conduct inspections, cleaning, and repair activities, and respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment skills.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders, support Stores and Store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide a prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required safety training and equipment operation requirements.

• 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently use ladders and work at heights.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods and work in various temperatures.
• Hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade.

• Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade, or 5 years’ experience in the same fields.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program.
• License in the related trade in the city/state where the job is located.
• Intermediate level proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 – $35.00. Additional bonuses and premiums may be available based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
