Job Title

Post Consumer Brands is seeking a skilled mechanic to join their team in Battle Creek, Michigan. This role involves maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment used in the packaging process.

The responsibilities of this position include:

• Providing equipment maintenance to production facilities.
• Offering design and engineering support.
• Repairing, adjusting, maintaining, and monitoring machines and equipment.
• Setting up packaging lines for various products.
• Adjusting guides, belts, conveyor speeds, drive and transfer mechanisms.
• Initiating start up and observing line operations.
• Identifying trouble areas and advising maintenance management.
• Referring complex electrical and mechanical repairs to certified personnel.
• Cleaning and lubricating machine components.
• Maintaining company established sanitary and safety rules.
• Performing motor control equipment maintenance.
• Using metering and diagnostic equipment for maintenance and repair.
• Utilizing diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Working with cross-functional teams to develop and adapt maintenance plans.
• Reviewing and entering work orders into the CMMS.
• Creating, maintaining, and adjusting preventative maintenance routines.
• Providing training to others.
• Developing positive relationships with all employees.
• Driving continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
• Attending RCA meetings as needed.
• Performing daily inspections of equipment.
• Implementing and documenting audits and planned preventative maintenance.
• Assisting in planning work for equipment outages.
• Repairing normal equipment breakdowns.
• Performing rigging and installation of new or existing equipment.
• Troubleshooting equipment failures.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $40-$45 per hour.

The qualifications for this position include:

• Ability to perform all duties with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of plant safety, sanitation, and working rules.
• Knowledge of personal protective equipment specific to the trade.
• Knowledge of equipment and tools used in the trade.
• Proficiency in mathematical functions used in the trade.
• Interpersonal skills to interact and work with others.
• Knowledge of current technology and desire to expand upon that knowledge.
• Willingness to participate in trade-related training.
• Successful completion of high school education or equivalent.
• Successful journeyman mechanical apprenticeship or >8000 hours documented in the mechanical field.
• Ability to pass relevant/required written, oral, or hands-on training.
• Understanding of packaging, process, and its application.
• Understanding of computer systems operating on a window platform.
• Sufficient understanding of equipment operating at 600V and below.
• Ability to read drawings and schematics.
