Position Summary
The APP, Associate Medical Director, provides high-quality, cost-effective medical care to underserved patients, delivering both acute and chronic care. This role also includes medical leadership responsibilities, clinical oversight, supervision of staff and volunteers, and administrative duties in the absence of a Clinic Director. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong clinical judgment, and a commitment to serving diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities Medical Leadership- Identify, evaluate, and address disease prevention and health promotion issues within the patient population.
- Collaborate with medical staff for consultation, referral, and care coordination.
- Write standing orders, provide clinical consultation, and support policy development.
- Supervise and manage staff including Patient Navigators, Nurse Case Managers, and Community Health Workers.
- Oversee volunteer staff for programs such as immunizations, health education, and dietary counseling.
- Serve as the primary contact for lab follow-ups and urgent care referrals.
- Provide on-site training and support for clinical volunteers.
- Evaluate and treat illnesses; prescribe medications and manage ongoing therapy.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests efficiently.
- Utilize Telehealth options as appropriate.
- Respond to patient inquiries and provide medical advice.
- Educate patients and families on preventive care, treatments, and medications.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records according to clinical standards.
- Manage front desk and scheduling operations affecting medical services.
- Oversee facility safety, equipment maintenance, and compliance with state/federal regulations.
- Participate in OHSA/WSHA facility reviews and monthly safety meetings.
- Ensure proper lab maintenance, supplies, and documentation.
- Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Stay current with professional knowledge and integrate best practices into patient care.
- Collaborate with volunteers, nursing, and other staff to meet patient needs holistically.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Advanced Practice Provider license with current Washington State licensure (ARNP or PA-C).
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- DEA license with national prescriptive authority.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
- Experience in chronic care management and community/public health settings.
- Knowledge of age-specific growth, development, and life‑stage principles.
- Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Skilled in policy and procedure implementation.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus.
- Passion for healthcare equity and serving underserved populations.
- Strong project management and leadership abilities.
- Patient advocacy mindset and commitment to community engagement.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to sit for 8 continuous hours and/or stand for 2 continuous hours.
- Capacity to manage work‑life balance and typical job‑related stress.
- Exempt, full‑time (30–35 hours/week)
- Hourly rate: $68–$75 (dependent on experience)
- Sick leave per Washington State Initiative 1433
- 3 weeks of vacation per year
