The Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry‑level registered nurse role within a Clinical Advancement Program, responsible for delivering and coordinating patient care in a hemodialysis setting.
Key duties include assessing patient data, adjusting treatment plans, providing education to patients and families, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective dialysis therapy.
They may delegate tasks to care staff, assist with emergency responses, and participate in staff training and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications include a nursing degree from an accredited school, current licensure, BLS certification, and at least 9 months of RN experience, with preferred experience in nephrology or hemodialysis.
Physical demands involve heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and working in a healthcare environment with exposure to infectious materials.
Supervision may be provided to less experienced staff, and additional responsibilities include documentation, laboratory procedures, and patient education.
