Primary Purpose / General Description
Supporting the Scripps College Academy, the Head Residential Coordinator will create a safe environment in the residence hall for program participants in collaboration with other staff and the administration for the summer conference.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise student participants within the residence hall, including maintenance of curfew hours and lights‑out policy.
- Assist with disciplinary actions that arise inside or outside the residential hall and enforce program rules and regulations.
- Document in writing any incidents occurring within the residence hall.
- Live in the residence hall with student participants for the program’s duration.
- Assist in the supervision of all student participants within the residence hall.
- Collaborate closely with faculty to plan the academic program.
- Assist with group projects in week 2 of the program.
- In conjunction with the Residential Coordinator, conduct night shift rotations.
- Assist with office responsibilities as needed.
- Attend all corresponding training and staff meetings.
- Support students and operations as needed.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- Active support for the College’s Principles of Community and Institutional Values in the performance of job duties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Customer‑service orientation with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage tasks and deadlines.
- High school diploma or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the job. Experience working with high school students is preferred.
- No required licenses or certificates.
This is a temporary, full‑time, non‑benefits eligible, non‑exempt position. Hours will vary based on departmental needs and are usually scheduled for alternating shifts of 2:00pm‑11:00pm and 7:00am‑4:00pm. The assignment is anticipated to begin on or around May8,2026 and end on or before June
28,2026.
Hourly rate: $17.15.
