About the Position
Join Our Team as a Locum Gastroenterologist – Bay City, MI

As a critical member of our healthcare team, you will offer high-quality care through flexible scheduling, making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives while gaining valuable professional experience.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a supportive environment with hospitalist support, a dedicated GI clinic nearby, and a collaborative community of specialists including colorectal surgeons. You will be engaged in 24-hour call coverage, with scheduled shifts that facilitate work-life balance, all while contributing to a reputable healthcare institution committed to excellence.
Required Skills:
Valid medical license and board certification in Gastroenterology
Proven proficiency in performing ERCP procedures
Ability to provide 24-hour call coverage and manage acute cases
Strong clinical decision-making skills and excellent communication
Ability to collaborate effectively with hospital staff and specialists
Nice to Have
Skills:
Experience in outpatient GI clinics
Familiarity with small-town healthcare dynamics
Multilingual abilities for diverse patient populations
Preferred
Education and Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years of independent gastroenterology practice or fellowship training
Prior experience with ERCP in a clinical setting
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel for locum assignments within Michigan
Compliance with all state and federal medical regulations
Participation in ongoing training and orientation sessions
Availability to commence from March 1, 2026, with assignments extending through early 2027
Compensation for this role is competitive, with hourly pay rates to be negotiated.
