Washtenaw Community College (WCC) is seeking a Part time Nursing Instructor to teach Nursing (NUR) credit courses. Needs may become available each semester. Courses may be taught online. Upon successful submission of your application including required documents, you will be considered for future part-time and/or on-call teaching opportunities on a per course basis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain an environment conducive to student learning.
- Prepare for and instruct assigned course(s) through the use of appropriate learning experiences and materials which meet overall course objectives and program goals.
- Adhere to course syllabus and comply with Assessment of Student Academic Achievement.
- Evaluate student progress through day-to-day evaluation, written examinations and overall observation.
- Grade assignments in a meaningful way to promote continued student growth, return graded assignments in a timely manner, and assign final grades meeting institutional deadlines.
- Actively support student success through guidance, advising and assisting individual students as needed.
- Participate in professional activities such as curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation/revision and other professional planning activities.
- Participate in the Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process.
- Maintain levels of professional knowledge and compliance training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Part-time Nursing Instructors may teach up to eight (8) contact hours per week or 180 contact hours per semester. The terms of employment are based on college enrollment and class enrollment.
QualificationsMinimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Earned Master’s of Science in Nursing from a regionally-accredited institution required. For Lab and Clinical instruction, earned BSN from a regionally-accredited institution required.
- Minimum 3 years of Nursing experience required.
- Current Michigan license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent, successful, post-secondary teaching experience in Nursing courses.
- Online, remote, or virtual teaching experience.
- QM Teaching Online certified.
