Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced MEP Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional building projects. This role involves producing high‑quality HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system designs while collaborating with architects, electrical engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for building projects in accordance with applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, etc.).
- Develop load calculations, system sizing, equipment selections, and ductwork/piping layouts.
- Create construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using AutoCAD or Revit.
- Perform energy modeling, ventilation analysis, and code compliance reviews.
- Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and electrical teams.
- Review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings during construction phase.
- Conduct site assessments, inspections, and commissioning support.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
- 3-7+ years of mechanical or MEP engineering experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical load calculation software (e.g., Trane Trace, Carrier HAP).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, HVAC design principles, and MEP coordination.
- Experience with duct and piping design, HVAC equipment selection, and plumbing systems.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.
- EIT certification required; PE preferred or ability to obtain.
- Experience with complex building types (healthcare, labs, data centers, higher education, industrial facilities).
- Familiarity with energy codes (IECC, ASHRAE 90.1) and sustainable design methodologies.
- Experience with BIM workflows and clash detection tools (Navisworks).
- Understanding of building controls, fire protection systems, and commissioning processes.
