Supports FMCNA's mission and vision. Works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, providing safe and effective dialysis therapy, patient documentation, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Duties / Activities Customer Service- Drive FMCNA culture through values and customer service standards
- Provide outstanding service to all internal and external customers
- Maintain effective relationships with timely communication
- Respond, resolve, and follow up on customer service issues promptly
- Provide direct patient care for assigned patients
- Perform technical aspects of dialysis per prescribed treatment plans
- Monitor and document treatment parameters and patient progress
- Report significant changes, equipment problems, or incidents to the supervisor
- Develop and follow teaching plans to educate patients and families
- Assist with emergency procedures, including CPR and other lifesaving measures
- Administer intravenous medications per orders and state laws
- Safely operate dialysis equipment and emergency devices
- Perform minor troubleshooting as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment
- Address blood spills immediately following FMNA Bloodborne Pathogen Control Policies
- Participate in staff and patient care plan meetings
- Complete in‑service training on dialysis principles and techniques
- Act as resource for other staff and coordinate care with physicians, dietitians, and social workers
- Assume additional duties as assigned
Requires frequent, prolonged periods of standing; ability to bend and lift up to 200 lbs with assistance. Work involves patient interaction, heavy lifting, and occasional travel between facilities.
Education- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN)
- Current state licensure
- Preferred: one year of medical‑surgical nursing; hemodialysis and ICU experience preferred but not required
- Must complete a hemodialysis theory and practice training course
- Must complete CPR certification
- Must complete the Nurses Technical Training Program upon hire or shortly thereafter
- Availability for coverage during short‑staffing or other needs
- Must pass Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
