Security Officer
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
- Performing proactive monitoring and timely responses to potential or actual security threats.
- Investigating, documenting, and managing security incidents and hazards.
- Maintaining knowledge and following policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans, and facilitating planned drills and simulations.
- Training and mentoring staff on the environment of care and emergency management processes and procedures.
- Offering information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
- Managing traffic and parking enforcement within the campus area and participating in patrols.
- Reporting potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
- Operating vehicles safely and responsibly to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Professional licensure/certification may be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
