WHAT

THE ROLE DELIVERS

The Specialist/Engineer, ESH supports the ESH Manager to assist in implementation of common Environmental programs as well as policy or processes. This role will support Roehm Bay City Operations as well as administer corporate environmental training programs, promote permit compliance in the workplace, conduct inspections, audits and investigate incidents to improve overall environmental compliance and sustainability. This role will guide and support efforts in process hazard analysis (PHA), pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR), and risk management as it relates to environmental concerns.

Additional duties could include compliance auditing, training, and emergency response.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Coordinating with plant Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance, conduct PSSR evaluations for commissioned equipment to support startup and post-shutdown startup activities.
  • Coordinates, participates in, and provides data for relevant audits, assessments, reporting requirements, and investigations, ensuring preventive actions are implemented to avoid issue and/or finding reoccurrence.
  • Monitor and lead the plant LDAR program.
  • Manage the plant RCRA and Waste Accumulation and Disposal program.
  • Represent the facility with outside regulatory agencies and to complete routine agency reports.
  • Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment). Stop any unsafe acts or processes.
  • Assist in the calibration or inspection of environmental equipment. Research and implement technical requirements for tracking and monitoring ESH equipment.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of safety training programs including delivery of plant environmental, health and safety training.
  • Supports compliance of environmental water regulations & standards including waste management and disposal.
  • Complete required reviews and updates for ESH sections of Management of Change (MOC).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety related policies, procedures and programs to assure compliance with all national, local, and company-specific regulations and requirements.
  • Complete and document incident investigations and required documentation. Immediately reports all accidents, incidents, and near-misses to management.
  • Maintain sufficient supplies of personal protective and first aid equipment. Ensure all personnel are properly equipped with safety equipment, and that all personnel assigned to operations receive respiratory protection fit-testing, HAZWOPER, and other required safety training as required by Federal, State and local regulations and recommendations.
  • Maintain a database and historical files of all training, briefing and meetings.
  • Maintain confidential information.
