Emergency Department Director

Overview

Job Title: Director of Nursing (Urgent Care) — Full Time

Location: Main Hospital Campus, Bay City, Texas

Summary: The Director is responsible for directing, managing, and delegating individualized patient care for urgent, emergent, or traumatic care by promoting and restoring patients’ health through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, families, and friends; and supervising assigned team members. The Director reports to the Chief Nursing Officer.

• Direct, manage, and delegate patient care for urgent, emergent, or traumatic conditions.
• Promote and restore patients’ health through the nursing process.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
• Provide physical and psychological support to patients, families, and friends.
• Supervise assigned team members.
• Report to the Chief Nursing Officer.

• Current registered nurse license in the State of Texas.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years as Director or other management/supervisory experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• CEN certification required.

• Required Certifications upon hire: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC.
• Required Competencies acquired at hire:
  Stat Strip, Basic EKG, Hospital Mandatory Education.
• Acquires the following certifications within 1 year of hire: TNCC.
