Are you on the Gulf Coast and looking to join an excellent company that serves the local community? We are now hiring an Irrigation Specialist II! Based in Bay City, you will have the unique opportunity to work hand-in-hand with industry partners across Matagorda and Wharton counties. You will work with a skilled team and receive valuable training through on-the-job experience in operating and maintaining pumping plants, re-lift facilities, irrigation canals, dams, reservoirs, and water wells.

- Operate, maintain, and monitor irrigation pumps using manual and SCADA system controls, as required.
- Troubleshoot to isolate and diagnose problems. Perform maintenance on pumps, irrigation dams, pump overhauls and related equipment.
- Maintain facilities, irrigation dams, buildings, electric motors and switch gear by performing painting, concrete, plumbing, electrical, piping, welding, carpentry and mowing tasks, as required.
- Coordinate water orders with pumping demand to determine the most efficient pump combination.
- Calculate, adjust, and control water demand levels to manage customer orders. Determine and sets return flows to meet system demands.
- Travel independently or with a small crew to various LCRA service locations as scheduled.
- Two or more years of experience in mechanical installation, maintenance and/or repair, or other relevant experience, including experience with electric motors, hydro metering equipment, heavy equipment operation, heavy equipment transport/loading/unloading, welding, or other relevant experience.
- Class A Texas commercial driver's license or equivalent from another state required for incumbents with heavy equipment operation and transportation responsibilities.
- Heavy Equipment Operation experience.
- Electrical/Mechanical knowledge or background.
