Summary:

The Substitute Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, athletic events, and other school-related activities. This is a substitute position, which means the employee will work on an as-needed basis.

• - Safely operate a school bus and transport students to and from school, athletic events, and other school-related activities
• - Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving the bus
• - Maintain a clean and safe bus environment for students
• - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in good working condition
• - Communicate with school administration and parents regarding bus routes and schedules
• - Manage student behavior on the bus and enforce school district policies and procedures
• - Assist students with getting on and off the bus safely
• - Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to the appropriate school personnel

• - High school diploma or equivalent
• - Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsements
• - Clean driving record
• - Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• - Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel
• - Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations related to school bus transportation
• - Ability to manage student behavior and enforce school district policies and procedures
• - Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis
