Telecommunication Mechanic II
The AEGIS Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Telecommunication Mechanic II to work in our Stennis Space Center, MS office.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 1 & 2 support for trouble calls related to Cisco VoIP products
- Meet with customers to gather specialized networking requirements, especially related to the VoIP network
- Communicate and collaborate in cross-functional teams with Network Engineering teams supporting other NASA locations
- Participate in Agency working groups
- Support daily Move, Add, and Change orders in a timely manner to meet contract SLA's
- Respond to trouble tickets in a timely manner to meet contract SLA's
- Attend Daily DSR telecom.
- Assign and Reserve (daily) Conference Now Meeting (CNM) numbers.
- Receive and process Oweb orders for tenant phones.
- Receive and process ESD orders for NASA/NASA contractor services.
- Build line, device, and user profiles in Cisco CUCM to include installing the Certification Authority Proxy Function (CAPF) certificate for new phone service.
- Build user Jabber and Microsoft Teams accounts and email instructions for installation noting user's sign-in credentials.
- Create, reset, or delete voice mail requirements in Unity based on work order request.
- Issue instructions to phone techs for move/add/or delete phone orders.
- Lock/unlock MAC addresses in the System Configuration and changes software (Putty) for phybridge and VG connections.
- Update line/switch/cable pair/jack information in CIMS for tracking capability.
Other job duties include providing Switchboard and Operator services for the center. This coverage is a shared duty amongst five employees. Three shifts that rotate monthly provide coverage for all operating hours (6:00 am - 6:00 pm). Shift schedules are as follows:
Early: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
Regular: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Late: 9:30 am - 6:00 pm

Basic Qualifications:
Required
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma. Minimum of 3 years of related experience in Voice over IP. 5 or more years of related experience is preferred.
Clearance requirements:
Candidate must be capable of obtaining a Public Trust
- Knowledge of Cisco networking products (Cisco Voice Gateways and NVT Phybridge)
- Experience with general VoIP technologies
- Excellent communication and writing skills, including developing and presenting training materials, implementation plans, and diagrams
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Visio and Project.
Typical hourly range for position: $32.00/hour - $38.00/hour. Salary to be determined by applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, market data, and contractual requirements.
