Description

The Blaster/Painter is responsible for preparing and finishing building components to meet production standards, schedules, and quality requirements. This role involves operating blasting equipment to remove scale, rust, grease, and debris from sheet metal surfaces, then mixing and applying primers and paints according to drawing specifications. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality finished products, maintains a clean and safe work environment, and consistently meets or exceeds production timelines.

Accountabilities
  • Support the effort of being a best-in-class manufacturer through the preparation of high-quality building components
  • Preparing building assemblies by abrasive blasting according to project specifications.
  • Operating blasting equipment to remove scale, grease, rust, dirt, and other contaminants from sheet metal surfaces.
  • Inspecting blasted surfaces to ensure readiness for subsequent manufacturing processes.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in accordance with safety standards.
  • Completing tasks efficiently, aiming to meet or exceed estimated production hours.
Education
  • High school diploma or GED,
    Required
Experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in industrial or commercial blasting or paint operations,
    Required
  • Experience with spray application techniques and equipment
  • Familiarity with primers, epoxies, urethanes, and other industrial coatings preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Skilled in mixing and applying paints to achieve specified finishes
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and color codes
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Understanding of coating systems and proper application techniques
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards
