About the Opportunity

We're seeking an Assistant Project Manager with 2–5 years of commercial construction experience who is eager to grow into a Project Manager role.

You’ll partner directly with experienced Project Managers and company leadership while helping manage multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This position offers exceptional exposure to estimating, scheduling, procurement, budgeting, job costing, client management, and field operations.

The role is approximately 60% office-based and 40% field-based
, with projects located throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Most projects range from $500,000 to $2 million
, with larger projects reaching $10 million
.

What You’ll Be Doing Project Management
  • Coordinate multiple commercial construction projects from award through closeout.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Visit active job sites to monitor progress and resolve issues.
  • Help keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Communicate with owners, architects, engineers, and clients.
Estimating & Preconstruction
  • Assist with preparing competitive bid proposals.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs.
  • Review blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Obtain subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Assist with project budgets and cost tracking.
  • Support estimating and bid preparation activities.
Financial & Administrative
  • Track job costs and budgets.
  • Review and code vendor invoices.
  • Process RFIs, submittals, contracts, and change orders.
  • Assist with procurement and purchasing.
  • Support project closeout, punch lists, and warranty documentation.
What We’re Looking For
  • 2–5 years of Assistant Project Manager or Project Management experience.
  • Commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Civil/site development experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Understanding of scheduling, procurement, job costing, budgeting, and change orders.
  • Estimating experience is highly desirable but not required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ownership mentality.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
