What Drives SuccessThe primary function of this position is to fabricate and assemble fire dampers.
Responsibilities include:
- Follow guidance from lead personnel for basic assembly of fire dampers.
- Run roll forming machines.
- Assemble finished dampers.
- Operate MIG welding machine parts.
- Work across multiple departments and run multiple machines.
- Communicate any issues effectively.
- Operate machines safely while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Use assorted metal cutting saws and electric handheld and manual tools.
- Operate multiple press breaks.
- Bench assembly – assemble products per company standards.
- Machining of component parts – use sharp cutting tools to remove excess material.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Work a 10‑hour shift Monday through Thursday.
- Flexible – overtime and weekend work required as needed.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math skills.
- Read a tape measure accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Use low‑voltage electric current readers.
- Operate a manual/electric hand truck between multiple departments.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience reading a tape measure.
- Pass a tape measure exam.
- Manufacturing experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements – Essential
- In good physical condition.
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, twist, and turn for long periods in a manufacturing environment.
- Lean over worktables for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Push and pull up to 65 lbs.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
This is an hourly non‑exempt role. The starting pay range is $17.00–$20.00 per hour, based on geography, skills, education, and experience. Overtime is available for hours over 40 per week, as required by state law.
