About This Role

The Manager of Patient Care is responsible for overseeing nursing practice, patient care delivery, and regulatory compliance within a patient care unit. This role is ideal for experienced nursing leaders who are committed to high-quality patient and family-centered care.

• Location: Bay Shore, NY
• Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift

• Manage and have 24/7 responsibility for the team members, operations, and patient care activities of a patient care unit.
• Assist nursing leadership in setting strategic direction for key programs in alignment with organizational mission and nursing strategic plan.
• Communicate, build consensus, and guide the team toward achieving department objectives.
• Promote and maintain high-quality patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Create a professional work environment that fosters team member respect, engagement, and accountability.
• Promote appreciative inquiry and evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate practice.
• Acquire and manage staffing for the patient care unit, collaborating with HR for requirements.
• Provide direction and guidance to patient care unit team members and supervisors.
• Facilitate performance reviews, promotions, pay, and corrective actions.
• Serve as a role model for standards of professional practice (clinical, educational, and leadership).

• Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing required, Master's preferred.

• 6-8 years of nursing experience required.
• 2-5 years of leadership/management experience required.

• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
• Specialized certifications as needed.
