Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance
Job Title
The primary function of the position is to perform preventative, routine, and corrective maintenance on the facility, equipment, and building systems to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable work environment.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include:
- Ensuring implementation of Company safety, health, and environmental programs
- Commitment to the Company's policies, principles, and procedures
- Completing maintenance work orders and tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager
- Conducting daily facility inspections
- Maintaining appropriate inventory levels of maintenance supplies, tools, and repair materials
- Working with maintenance tools
- Completing assigned maintenance projects accurately
- Performing routine inspections of buildings, systems, and equipment
- Repairing basic mechanical and structural issues
- Handling minor carpentry, painting, and repairs
- Climbing ladders and using man lifts
- Escorting subcontractors on property when needed
- Communicating any issues that arise effectively to Manager
- Operating equipment safely while maintaining clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas
- Maintaining accurate records of preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and completed work orders
- Other duties as assigned
Additional requirements include:
- Math skills and ability to read standard rulers
- Ability to operate material handling and tools required to perform tasks
- Must be flexible – OT and nights and weekend are required as needed
- Good communication & interpersonal skills
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and/or boom lifts (training provided if required)
- Ability to read maintenance manuals, work orders, and basic technical drawings
- Basic computer skills for documenting work orders and maintenance activities
- Valid driver's license preferred (if company vehicles are used)
High School diploma or equivalent trade school.
ExperienceExperience includes:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial facility maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a related field
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and measuring devices
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and facility systems
- Experience performing preventative maintenance programs is preferred
Physical requirements include:
- Must be in good physical condition
- Must be able to stand and/or bend for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs
- Must have good hand/eye coordination
- Must be able to climb a ladder
- Ability to frequently walk throughout a manufacturing facility
- Ability to reach overhead, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in confined spaces as needed
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, and manufacturing environments
- Ability to safely climb ladders and operate elevated work platforms
- Ability to wear required PPE at all times
Compensation:
This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is between $22.00-$27.00/hour. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).
