Job Description

DKP Wood Railings and Stairs, a company specializing in custom staircases and railing systems across Long Island and the NYC area, is seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate has hands-on carpentry experience, strong attention to detail, and takes pride in precision craftsmanship. This role focuses on fabrication, preparation, and on-site work related to stairs, railings, and custom wood components.

• Perform carpentry work related to stairs, railings, treads, handrails, and custom wood components.
• Read and interpret drawings, measurements, and specifications accurately.
• Cut, shape, assemble, and install wood components using hand and power tools.
• Assist with preparation and fabrication of stair and railing elements in the shop.
• Support on-site installation teams as needed.
• Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and craftsmanship standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding progress, issues, and material needs.

• Minimum of 2–4 years of professional carpentry experience.
• Experience with stairs, railings, trim, or custom woodworking is a strong plus.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and techniques.
• Ability to take accurate measurements and work with tight tolerances.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Competitive hourly wage or salary based on experience. Compensation will be tailored individually based on skills and contribution.

Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
