The Lead Assistant Professional will be a year-round position beginning in late March and ending the first week of December. There is some flexibility on exact start and end dates and qualified candidates seeking a seasonal role are still encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will be expected to be a great teammate and mentor to our current staff and be engaged in all aspects of the Golf Operation.
The Lead Assistant will have ownership over the following aspects of the Golf Operation at Southward Ho:
Assist the Head Professional and all golf staff employees with managing and overseeing all golf-related activities and services at Southward Ho with the goal of providing a world-class golf experience for our members and guests.
Passion and a deep knowledge for the game of golf, its rules, and for teaching the game.
Manager and creator of the schedule for the Professional Staff, including weekly payroll approval.
Responsible for running all Men’s Tournaments including, but not limited to, entries, favors, handicaps, prizes, tournament field draw, Golf Genius set-up, email communication, scoring and results.
Works directly with the Head Professional & Golf Shop Merchandiser (professional-owned shop) to manage the business of the Golf Shop including upholding shop policies & procedures, training intern and support staff, invoice entry and inventory control.
