Warehouse Associate – Receiving

Primary function is to retrieve stock to fill customer orders, fulfill and process orders, accept incoming/outgoing shipments, and oversee the general organization of the warehouse.

• Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
• Commitment to the Company’s policies, principles, and procedures and adheres the Company’s procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety ("EH&S"), Equal Employment Opportunity ("EEO"), discipline/corrective action, and security.
• Organize the daily workflow of receivers, unloaders, and forklift personnel.
• Prepare shipments: coordinate shipments with production, purchasing, and other departments.
• Train receiving team members on safety protocols and proper procedures.
• Keep track of receipts and paperwork.
• Work with the quality assurance team to ensure that products meet company standards and that any issues are reported.
• Communicate across the business, including with bookstore staff, delivery services, and vendors.
• Track, trace, and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Maintain a clean, neat, work‑ready area.
• Promptly unload trucks and deliveries and sort and stock receivables.
• Maintain an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scan inventory, and count accurately.
• Engage with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
• Provide additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to operate various types of materials handling equipment, including:
  • Hand trucks
  • Pallet jacks
  • Forklifts – Stand-up/Sit-down
  • Order/Cherry picker
  • Bendi Forklift experience a plus
  • Turret Truck experience a plus
• Comfortable using equipment and elevating to heights ranging from 18ft to 30ft.
• Flexible – OT and weekend work required as needed.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Basic math & computer skills.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude and great work ethic, whether working with others or unsupervised.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a warehouse environment preferred.

• Compensation: This is an hourly non‑exempt role. Starting pay range $17.00–$25.00/hour. Employees are also eligible for overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week.
