Receiving and Delivery, CDL

Job Description

Performs diversified receiving, distribution and inventory control duties supporting hospital operations.

• Drive hospital truck and alternate sprinter vans.
• Load and transport all materials/packages, including bulk items and equipment, to hospital, off‑sites, and designated locations.
• Unload materials at destination and pick items up as needed.
• Maintain motor vehicles in a safe, clean and orderly manner; perform daily inspection.
• Distribute supplies to various supply room locations throughout the hospital.
• Enter required delivery information and scan orders into the department computer system.
• Participate in off‑loading trucks, unpacking/uncrating items received using proper equipment.
• Operate manual or power lift equipment to move materials from receiving dock platform to designated locations as needed.
• Place orders for hospital supplies.
• Maintain correct par levels in all supply rooms by reviewing inventory to identify items to replenish.
• Issue stock orders and fill pick list requests for warehouse items.
• Store inventory, rotate existing stock, check for expired products, and perform cycle counts.
• Maintain related records (requisitions, packing slips, receipts, etc.).
• Process inventory returns and replacements.
• Package and stage material to be returned and/or replaced, including all Fed Ex and UPS returns.
• Coordinate with material operations on shortages, replacements, and other related ordering issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License, required.
• Valid Class A or B with air brakes CDL, required.
• Prior storeroom/inventory control experience, preferred. Experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.
• Knowledge of power jack, dollies, manual pumps, jacks, and other receiving equipment, preferred.
• Knowledge of basic computer applications. Ability to perform data entry in the department computer system, required.
• Ability to lift/carry material in excess of 50 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, lift and/or reach for extended periods of time.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
