Receiving and Delivery, CDL

Job Description

Varied evenings, including every other weekend and holidays as needed.

• Drives hospital truck and alternate sprinter vans.
• Loads and transports all materials/packages including bulk items and equipment to hospital, offsites and designated locations.
• Unloads materials at destination and picks items up as needed.
• Maintains motor vehicles in a safe, clean and orderly manner. Performs daily inspection.
• Distributes supplies to various supply room locations throughout the hospital.
• Enters required delivery information/scans orders into department computer system.
• Participates in off-loading trucks, unpacking/uncrating items received using proper equipment.
• Operates manual or power lift equipment to move materials from receiving dock platform to designated locations as needed.
• Places orders for hospital supplies.
• Maintains correct par levels in all supply rooms by reviewing inventory to identify items to replenish.
• Issues stock orders. Fills pick list requests for warehouse items.
• Stores inventory, rotates existing stock, checks for expired products and performs cycle counts.
• Maintains related records (requisitions, packing slips, receipts etc).
• Processes inventory returns and replacements.
• Packages and stages material to be returned and/or replaced. Includes all Fed Ex and UPS returns.
• Coordinates with material operations on shortages, replacements and other related ordering issues.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License, required.
• Valid Class A or B with air brakes CDL required.
• Prior storeroom / inventory control experience, preferred. Experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.
• Knowledge of power jack, dollies, manual pumps jacks and other receiving equipment, preferred.
• Knowledge of basic computer applications. Ability to perform data entry in department computer system, required.
• Ability to lift/carry material in excess of 50 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, lift and/or reach for extended periods of time.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
