Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team in Bayonne, New Jersey on a contract basis. This role involves assisting with individual tax returns and ensuring accurate preparation of 1040 forms. The position offers flexible hours and requires onsite presence 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review individual tax returns, including 1040 forms, with attention to accuracy and compliance.

- Utilize tax software such as Lacerte, Drake, or Pro Series to efficiently manage tax preparation.

- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial documents and information for tax filing.

- Ensure all tax filings meet regulatory requirements and deadlines.

- Provide expert advice to clients on tax-related matters and deductions.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

- Manage and organize client files and documentation for streamlined processing.

- Work onsite 2-3 days per week while maintaining flexible working hours.

- Support seasonal tax preparation needs for the duration of the contract.

- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to address any questions or concerns. Requirements - Proven experience in individual tax preparation, including 1040 forms.

- Proficiency in using tax software such as Lacerte, Drake, or Pro Series.

- Strong understanding of current tax laws, regulations, and compliance standards.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work onsite in Bayonne, New Jersey 2-3 days per week.

- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.

- Flexibility to adapt to seasonal workload and contract duration.

- Previous experience in a similar role is highly preferred.
