About the job Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Treatment Psychiatric Unit Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Treatment Psychiatric Unit Position SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Treatment Psychiatric Unit team. In this role, you will provide safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered nursing care to individuals experiencing acute psychiatric needs. You'll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to support stabilization, recovery, and continuity of care.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
Support a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for patients
Administer medications and monitor patient response, documenting accurately and timely
Participate in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety protocols as needed
Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health clinicians, and support staff to coordinate care
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, resources, and discharge needs
Maintain compliance with all clinical policies, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities RequiredNJ State Professional Registered Nurse License (active and in good standing)
AHA BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire
BSN in progress and/or willingness to obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire
Six (6) or more months of relevant nursing experience
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, emergency, or inpatient settings
Strong communication, critical thinking, and de-escalation skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
This position has two job openings, one part time and one full time.
