Principal Python Engineer (Need Ex-Insurance Candidate)
Location:
New Jersey
This role is the forefront of enterprise AI, building intelligent agentic systems that reason, plan, and take action across complex business workflows. You will design and implement Python-based agents that orchestrate models, tools, and data to automate real-world decision‑making s role blends deep engineering with cutting‑edge AI – working on everything from agent frameworks and APIs to safety, observability, and performance.
If you are excited about shaping how autonomous systems operate in production, this is where you'll make a tangible impact.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Python.
- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to system architecture decisions.
- Write clean, testable, and well‑documented code following best practices – also with assistance of LLM.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
- Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
- Drive improvements in code quality, tooling, CI/CD, and engineering processes.
- Participate in on‑call rotations and troubleshoot production issues when needed.
- 12+ plus years of professional software engineering experience, with strong focus on Python.
- Deep understanding of Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or similar.
- Experience building and consuming MCPs, RESTful APIs (and/or GraphQL).
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms – Azure experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and test automation.
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with designing and building agentic platforms.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or container orchestration.
- Exposure to event‑driven systems, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops best practices.
- Experience working in high‑scale, production environments.
- Prior experience mentoring or leading engineers.
